The toddler rooms offer a clean and stimulating environment for your toddler’s drive for exploration. The area is filled with plenty of well-planned exploratory objects that encourage self-directed play and child choice. Our nurturing caregivers provide attentive and affectionate care, creating a deep bond and trust, to encourage development.

Toddlers begin more structured activities—such as circle time and tasks that foster their fine motor and gross motor skills, as well as their cognitive development—without disrupting their daily routine. During these times, teachers speak completely in the targeted language, going over colors, numbers, the alphabet, the weather, the days of the week, and the months of the year. Children are introduced to their new language and culture through play, individual and group interactions, and age-appropriate activities that capture and hold their attention. Adhering to the TPR (Total Physical Response) approach, using language and physical cues, we teach our students about topics that are important in daily life, such as how to be a friend and get along well with others. We also teach toddlers several basic sign language commands to enhance our ability to communicate and provide care. Toddlers enjoy plenty of active play-time indoors and in our outdoor play areas.

In our Big Toddler Program (2–3 years), children continue to develop the fine motor and gross motor skills that are important to strengthen their muscles and help them master age-appropriate physical growth. Our approach defines the routines and self-help skills necessary for all independent learners to prepare for preschool.

You’ll have peace of mind knowing that we have stringent safety and cleanliness standards and provide a daily report with information about your child’s activities, eating, and bathroom habits for the day. Additionally, we encourage potty training and offer toddlers the opportunity to sit on the potty at every diaper change.

Proper nutrition is key for development of healthy bodies and minds. We are serious about nutrition and strive to offer a diversity of healthy foods, including plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Expanding the palate at an early age leads to years of healthy eating for better mental and physical activity. All our meals and snacks are prepared in our on-site kitchen, many times made from scratch, using real food FREE from highly processed ingredients or artificial colors. We choose organic whenever possible. Breakfast, lunch, and 2–3 snacks are provided daily.

Please keep in mind, that Building Brains Academy typically has a waitlist in place for all classrooms (at our current facility) so it is a good idea to tour our facilities early to ensure we have a space for your child when you need it. We have just broken ground on our new building. We are currently not scheduling tours of this location at this time. If you would like to add your name to our Interest Form for our new construction. we will contact you with further details once they are available.
